The Nucleus is New Jersey Institute of Technology’s (NJIT) official yearbooks, archiving the significant moments of the university. The Nucleus connects the past, the present, and the future of NJIT. The yearbooks cover the period 1923 to present. Extant yearbooks are housed in the Weston Rare Book Room of the Robert W. Van Houten Library, accessible by appointment.
The Nucleus yearbooks presents images and information documenting various aspects of university life and activities, student clubs and organizations, about graduating classes from schools and colleges, faculty and staff, student athletics,major university events and convocations including campus scenes and buildings.
In 2000, the digital and technology staff at the Robert W. Van Houten Library began digitizing selected volumes of the Nucleus with visions to digitize the current year along with the yearbooks for the 25th, 50th, and 75th years in conjunction with the NJIT alumni class reunions. The digitized yearbooks are searchable by name, major, and activities.
